I Am Still In The Race For The Chairmanship of Mosan/Okunola LCDA. - Ojikutu

Mr. O.Z Ojikutu is a contender for the Chairmanship position of Mosan/Okunola LCDA on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC. A very early starter in the race, he went off media and there were speculations he had withdrawn from the race. He told us however that the period he was silent was when he went back to the drawing board so as to come out strong. We caught up with him at the venue of a meeting he attended and asked him some questions on a document about his ambition being circulated that we laid our hands on. Read the interview he had with Alimosho Standard’s Femi Odeyemi.
Q: Thank you for talking to us without notice sir. We got wind of your 13 point agenda for the people of Mosan/Okunola courtesy committee of Democrats and Technocrats in Mosan/Okunola. We are interested in a few of them. Can you specifically tell us your plans for the Youth from what is written here? It says “gradual degradation of youth delinquency in the LCDA and promotion of job opportunity on equilibrium basis in the LCDA”.
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu: Thank you very much; I thank you for this impromptu meeting. As you can see, I just came out of a meeting and will be going in for another one but I will grant you few minutes to respond to your questions on the specific points you are interested in. If we have to talk on the 13 points, we might end up staying here for more than three hours. Having said that, I want to use this opportunity to greet my good people of Mosan/Okunola and to wish them well, I also want to tell them that we are on the March again to victory for our amiable and distinct Mosan/Okunola LCDA expecting elections for 2015. By God’s grace, we shall all rejoice at the end of the day. I am interested in working solely and hand-in-hand with the Governor of Lagos State, that is my big brother and boss, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode. The Governor also talked about this point during his campaign and I believe in this LCDA, we can work around it. Having visited many countries abroad, I believe I have the exposure and understanding of how to tackle this menace. In Mosan/Okunola for example, we have five wards. If in each ward, I can have 30 youths made up of male and female who are unemployed, irrespective of their level of education to make 150 in all, I will bring them into the local government and they will render services while the Local Government gives them stipend. I don’t want to disclose the services they will render now but I can assure you, they will be taken off the unemployment radar. They will work for just five days a week and twenty days a month and I will give them N10,000 pocket money. In fact, in a day, they will only work 4hours for me and at the end of the month, I will give you N10,000. I will also make sure they don’t work in a place where they will have to take transport. By so doing, I am sure the youths will be engaged and negative thinking won’t cross their mind. Their parents have prayed, fasted and sent them to school, they need to stop depending on their parents.
N10,000 as stipend per youth in a month, 150 youth in all, will they make the money from which they will be paid or where do you hope to get that money from?
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu: We already have it mapped out. They will make the money and even surpass it, I have seen it work but I don’t want to reveal the secret to you here. I have seen it materialize and implemented in countries abroad.
The people of Abesan in particular are always complaining they don’t feel the direct impact of whoever is in government in Mosan/Okunola and the response of those in authority is that there is no IGR from Abesan. Do you think you will get money from Abesan and if not, will you pump money into Abesan?
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu: That’s a very technical question my brother. I am telling you categorically that I will bring out money from Mosan/Okunola. The former chairman tried his best but his best could not satisfy the curiosity of the majority. Demand continues, therefore supply must not stop. That’s simple Economics. There is a roadmap already on how we will get the money. The only thing we need to do is to put the round peg in the right places with proper monitoring. I know what is needed in Abesan and other Wards, I am going to meet the needs of all the Wards in Mosan/Okunola.
In the document with us, there is a part that talks about periodic Town Hall meetings and accountability. How are we sure you will fulfill that if you win?
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu: Thank you, it is the easiest thing to do. As the Chairman, I am expected to have Counselors and Supervisors. There are five Wards in Mosan/Okunola, definitely we will have Councilors and Supervisors from each of the Wards. These people will agree with me that my failure is theirs and my success is theirs. We will work together to make sure the LCDA succeeds. They will tell me the needs of the people and I will work on them. Everybody including the Party leaders will be carried along. There will be a map for all Wards with letters to represent the progress we are making. We will make everything open to the people and they will be the judge of our progress.
What plan do you have for security in Mosan/Okunola?
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu: I talked about global security system in the document with you. Mosan/Okunola will be the first local government that will start this idea and within the first year, the Governor will invite us to replicate it at the state level. It will involve the police, the CDA, the CDC and a department in the local government, Agric and Community Development will be in charge of it. The names of all inhabitants of Mosan/Okunola, where they work, what they do there, their state of origin will be gotten through their landlords. Even the police will like to work with us because we will make their work easy.
We don’t want to take too much of your time sir. We are conscious of the little time you have for us. What will you like to tell your followers?
Mr. O.Z Ojikutu: I want to greet my people and also let them know their vote is their power. Their power is their bullet. They should be mindful of using it wisely so they don’t miss their target. Forward ever, backward never.

DEVOUT MEMBER OF DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH IN AYOBO TAKES HIS OWN LIFE OVER N47,000

A devout member of Deeper Life Bible Church in Ayobo and a native of Benin in Edo State, Mr. Fredrick Ehigator this morning, took his own life. According to the wife, Fredrick who is a father of two Graduate girls told her he was owing his colleagues at work a sum of N47,000 which is the accumulation of the contribution he was told to keep. She said she was thinking of who to meet for assistance in raising the money only to be met with this tragedy.
When it was obvious he could not pay back when the money was due and he didn’t want to run to anybody for help except his wife who could do little or nothing, Fredrick, a 54 year old man, resorted to taking his own life. Late Mr. Fredrick who still has both father and mother alive was said to be a very devout and easy going Christian. His Pastor who spoke with Alimosho Standard said he still saw the late man this morning when he came to drop the keys to the church and never had premonition of what he was about to do. According to the Pastor, everything looked alright and if he wasn’t a wizard, he could not have read his mind. The Pastor wondered why he didn’t talk about his problem because they would have rallied round him after all, “how much was the money” he said.
The man knew his wife was off to her shop, his two daughters were away and before anybody could come into the house, it probably would be evening. At around 9 am this morning, he decided it was the perfect time to take his own life with a rope tied to his neck. His wife who knew something was wrong and wanted to keep a tab on her husband called his phone and it was switched off. It was then she rushed to the Okada Park where the husband was working and she was told he had not been seen. She rushed home to meet his dangling body in their house, #41, Koloba Street, Ayobo, Alimosho Lagos.
The late man whose father and mother are still alive has a brother who works at Lagos State University, LASU and another brother who lectures at University of Benin, UNIBEN. What then could have caused him to take his own life when he had two Graduate girls? The wife said he told her he was owing N47,000 but the Okada men said it was N80,000 and interest on it made it N100,000. Since he could not produce the money, his Okada was seized as a punishment.
When his brother came, he told the people it is unfortunate this had to happen. He said in their part of the country, when someone dies in this manner, he is buried in the forest and he wondered why his brother had to take his own life. The Baale of the community, High Chief Adeyanju, Baale of Koloba said such incident had never occurred in Koloba and for them to appease the gods, the family should provide Obi Abata, Orogbo, Atare, Obuko and Oti.
The case has been reported at the Alagolo police station.

I'm At The 8th Assembly To Represent My People, Not Myself - YAYI

The Senator representing Lagos West at the National Assembly has pitched his tent with the people cocerning the concerns towards the sluggishness of the 8th Assembly to start work. In a message released this evening, he pleaded with people to give them time to settle-in and get to work and also promised he will be representing the people and not himself at the Senate. He noted that people have bombarded him with emails and promised to reply all. He however asked those looking for work to send their CVs to him. The message he sent reads:
Hello Friends,
I understand your feelings towards the 8th Assembly as seen in your comments.
We are just settling in, but be rest assured we are working with president Muhammudu Buhari to address the 16 years of destruction the former party in power brought upon us.
In the next four year, we all will be excited with the decision we took on March 28th and April 11, 2015 in Lagos West.
As for me, I have pledged during my campaign that I am going to the Senate to represent Lagos West and NOT myself. I am representing and serving you, NOT myself. The work ahead is enormous, we can't afford to be impatient now.
I plead with you to exercise more patience.
I am also replying your private messages in my inbox. They are in their hundreds, but I will try my best to respond to you all. For those who want jobs, please forward your CVs to info@yayiadeola.ng
Have a wonderful weekend all
Senator Solomon Olamilekan aka YAYI

CEO of HBF, Mrs. Folayemisi Adu

Non-Governmental-Organisations, NGOs are usually set up to compliment the efforts of the government. Most NGOs help in the development especially of the grassroots. Most of them enjoy the support of the government to facilitate their activities. One of such NGOs is Hope Builders’ Foundation; HBF.
In their series of visiting schools for Career/Mentorship programmes , Hope Builders Foundation, HBF on Friday 19th June, 2015 visited Government Senior College, Agege, Lagos.
The event that brought professionals together and was held at the Main Auditorium of the school started at 10am with an opening prayer. After the National and School anthem, the Principal of the school, represented by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Farinde welcomed the students and guests. Addressing the students, she told them it was a rare privilege to have so many professionals in their school in one day. She encouraged them to listen carefully and make good use of the information they will get.
First speaker, Dr. Mustapha Olusegun, a medical Doctor with Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, took the children on a tour of requirements to becoming a medical Doctor. He highlighted the subjects to learn and master and told them to make reading a part of them. He also told them that studying hard assures them of being out of poverty, a disease many people dread. The children were excited to have the professionals in their midst as they asked questions and participated excellently. Other speakers at the event include Mrs. Opeoluwa Orobiyi, CEO of OmoOba Eledua voices and Music School, Mrs. Chichi Umeseaka, Publisher of 9ineteen Magazine, Mrs.Tosin Eyinloju Jesu who spoke on morals and how it affects their future, Mrs. Folashade Adeoye, CEO of Foleb Interiors Decorations who spoke on Entrepreneurship and Dr. Tosin Adu, a Doctorate degree holder and a lecturer with Lagos State University from the biochemistry Department who spoke on being an academic. Other speakers are Barrister Ekene Emeka who took the children on what it takes to become a Lawyer and Mrs. Folashade Adu, the CEO of Hope Builders Foundation, HBF who made it clear to them that they cannot feature in a future they cannot picture.
There were many highlights of the event, one of which was when Mrs. Opeoluwa Orobiyi, aka Omo Oba Eledua mounted the stage to dance, the children clapped, shouted, sang and danced to her music. She gave 7 students of the school scholarship to her dance academy. Another highlight was when Mrs. Folashade Adeyole, CEO of Foleb Interiors Decoration asked the students to name any successful Entrepreneur they know. One of them got lucky when she mentioned the name of Folashade Adeoye and won for herself, Twenty Thousand Naira on the spot. The other student that came out won a training that will ordinarily cost her One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira.
For the excellent way the students participated and showed interest in the different career talks, the CEO of Hope Builders Foundation, HBF, Mrs Folayemisi Adu was so impressed that she gave scholarship to 33 students for vocational studies, opposed to the initial 5 students the NGO wanted to give scholarships to.
The event came to a close with a vote of thanks from one of the students.
