Ikeja Electric Delays New Prepaid Meter Orders to Address Backlog

 


During a virtual stakeholders' meeting on Thursday, September 14, 2023, Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IE) announced that it would temporarily halt the acceptance of new orders for prepaid meters. The decision came as a result of a backlog of requests that the company needs to clear before proceeding with new orders.

Morenikeji Amosun, IE's head of prepaid revenue management and metering, acknowledged the delay and stated that customers who had already made payments for their meters would receive them in due course. He emphasized the importance of patience during this process.
