| Dignitaries with beneficiaries |
Hope Builders Foundation (HBF), a nongovernmental organization (NGO) with special focus on Teens and women, on Saturday, November 18, 2017 held a graduation ceremony for their Entrepreneurial Empowerment Training (PET) beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries, mainly Teens were trained in different vocations by certified Trainers who have been in partnership with HBF for years.
Speaking at the event, the keynote speaker and the director, Center for entrepreneurial studies and skills acquisition at Lagos State University, LASU, Prof. Martins Anetekhai who spoke on the topic, Entrepreneurship: Solution to Economic Recovery, noted that Nigeria concerns itself with sharing the proceeds of oil sales but having a country full of skilled people would be more benefiting.
He noted that every student in LASU is mandated to take a course at the center during the course of study and will write an exam on the skill learnt before graduation. He also noted that there are opportunities for grants from international bodies and recently from Lagos state government that can be taken advantage of.
He implored the beneficiaries to take the skills learnt seriously and to improve themselves further. He assured HBF of support and assistance from the center anytime called upon.
The commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Lola Akande, represented by Mrs. I.O Fagbure lauded HBF for contributing to the society. She encouraged the beneficiaries to work hard and take the knowledge they have been imparted seriously. She promised the ministry will support HBF in all they do. She however encouraged other well meaning individuals and bodies to take up responsibilities to relieve the government.

Pastor Dapo Oyedele, representing the chairman of the occasion, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, advised the beneficiaries on the importance of being diligent because they will “stand before kings and not mere men.”
Other speakers at the event included the representative of the executive chairman of Mosan/Okunola LCDA, Mrs. Abiola Adeyemi, representative of Sovereign Trust Insurance, a Trustee, Dr. Balogun, among many others.
Chaplain of LASU, Prof. Tosin Adu handled the induction ceremony and Mrs. I.O Fagbure presented certificates to the beneficiaries.
Mr. Wale Thompson-John represented the commissioner for Wealth Creation and employment, Mr. Tunde Durosinmi-Etti at the event.
