A City Without a Single Church in Nigeria!

Oyi is in Irun Akoko, Ondo state, Nigeria and there is no single church there. This should be a challenge to pastors. There is a reason there is no church and the reason is captured in this post by a journalist, Folajogun Akinlami who posted it on Facebook. Read her below.

... Have you ever heard about the people of Oyi, in Irun Akoko. They are the reason why so many people are scared of Irun Akoko.
The people of Oyi believe it is a crime not to be a witch. Infact if you are not a witch, you are a bastard. There might be churches in other places but there is not a single
church in OYI.
They believe, since some pastors come to them for rituals, why on Earth would they let them come and fake them? They believe if you want to be hot be hot, if you want to be cold be cold. Don't be lukewarm. They don't want anything to tamper with their tradition.
They believe that your handiwork will judge you in the afterlife not religion. They are talented at treating barrenness, a water source from the rock solves that.
Guess what, the cars I saw at the Oyi had no names again. Tech, Tush and Porch cars. Looking lost and asking for directions. I love Oyi people because they have held on to our culture and passed it down from generation to generation. They are proud of their "Egungun, Imole ( at least three came out in the four days I stayed here and mostly the ones strangers or women must not see) They are proud of their Oro, they are proud of their various Ojubos.
There is ojubo esu, ogun, etc... They mostly age well before they die, in the last few days I have seen women who are 102, 100, 89,90 bent over but still walking.
Oyi people are nice and accommodating, they treated us with love, care and respect. They are proud of who they are!!! And they boast of helping 80 perecent of leaders, pastors and even law makers, the high and mighty who wouldn't acknowledge their help publicly.
I cannot wait to tell the story of how rich our abandoned and forsaken Yoruba life style and believe is. Documentary loading... Anticipate!!!
Below are some of the pictures I took in the Land of Myths and Magic!!!
Life of a producer
God bless my hustle
I love my job
I love my life
Living and loving it.

Their main source of income is not palm oil, or other agricultural produce. Their main source of income is "Isegun", i.e pure, undiluted, unadulterated jazz. There is a herbalist every where you turn.
