VICE PRINCIPAL ASSAULTED FOR STOPPING STUDENT FROM CHEATING
A disturbing incident has unfolded at Complete Child Development College in Akure, Ondo State, where Vice Principal Mr. Rotifa was brutally assaulted by suspected thugs allegedly hired by a student's parent. The incident occurred after Rotifa confiscated an Android phone from a student during the ongoing West Africa School Certificate Examination, preventing the student from cheating.
The student's mother had threatened to deal with the school authorities if they didn't allow her child to use the phone during the examination. When Rotifa refused to back down, the mother allegedly orchestrated the assault. Despite reporting the incident to the police, Rotifa was dragged from a police van and beaten.
The Ondo State government has promised to bring the attackers to justice. The Director of Schools, Ondo State Ministry of Education, has assured that arrangements are being made to ensure the safety of staff and students for the remaining examination papers. An investigation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits.
