Opeyemi and Toluwanimi Lead Mosan-Okunola LCDA as One-Day Chairman and Vice Chairman

In a unique youth mentorship initiative, Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos saw Master Olukayi Opeyemi, a student from Abesan Junior High School, take on the role of One-Day Chairman on Friday 17th October, 2025, while Master Bamgbose Toluwanimi from Estate Primary School, Abesan, served as One-Day Vice Chairman. Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi and Hon. Akintola Falade stepped aside for the students, who earned their roles by winning the LCDA’s Spelling Bee competition.

During their tenure, Opeyemi, the chairman's namesake, gave an inaugural address, thanking the council and his supporters. Guided by Hon. Akindele, Hon. Falade, and other officials, the duo toured the council secretariat, learning about departmental functions and the LCDA’s organogram. A special legislative session, led by Hon. Tosin Babatunde Afuwape, showcased ongoing projects in road rehabilitation, education, health, and empowerment, with Hon. Kehinde Yakub presenting the details.

The legislative arm awarded Opeyemi ₦100,000 and Toluwanimi ₦50,000 for their achievements. Opeyemi presented certificates to digital marketing trainees, and both students received achievement letters and certificates of office. Hon. Adunni encouraged them to strive for excellence, inspiring pride in their families and the LCDA.
