The Head of School, Mrs. Patricia
Orji, while speaking with Abesan News earlier today on the event, said the
children are set for a showdown among themselves to know who the Chess

When Abesan News asked the Head
Teacher why Chess, She said Chess has been proven not just to be a game but a
helpful tool that develops the brain of the children. According to her, chess
helps them in their analytical skills, it makes them smarter and gives them an
edge over other children in general reasoning.
Though this competition coming up
on Saturday is for the pupils in the school, there are plans to hold a
competition that will accommodate pupils from other schools in the nearest
future.
Mrs. Patricia Orji, the Head of
School, a lover of chess who knows the moves of the game hopes to improve on
her skills soon and maybe become a National player herself as almost everybody
around her plays chess.
The children are in high spirit
and ready for the competition as they are all set to outshine themselves in the
King’s game.
