Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are calling it quit

After 12 years together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are calling it quit.The pair first started dating in 2004 and married in 2014. However, the actress decided to file for divorce on Monday, E! News has confirmed. She cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking physical custody of their six kids, suggesting Pitt get visitation rights. She did not seek spousal support. 
Of course, news of the split has taken the world by surprise considering the couple reigned as one of the most powerful in the world, continuously gushing about their seemingly perfect romance to the public. 
So what could have possibly gone wrong? While nothing has been confirmed just yet, several tabloids are claiming a couple different stories.

Goodnight Mama Olori Rachael Omotayo Jegede Apebiolooto @96

Abesan Estate community held a Christian Wake for Mama Olori Rachael Omotayo Jegede Apebiolooto (Nee Fagbohun). She was 96 years old. Family, friends, community, church members, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren gathered to celebrate her exit today September 15, 2016.
From the testimonies of everybody that spoke, mama lived a wonderful and fulfilling life. She was strong till her death, she loved God and was at peace with everybody.
Burial will be held at her residence at Ipoti Ekiti, Ekiti State on September 28 and 29.
Alimosho Standard spoke with children, community members present at the event.

Patience Jonathan Claims Ownership of Frozen $31m

Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, is claiming ownership of the $31.4 million involved in an alleged fraud case before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Counsel to the first defendant in charge, with case number FHC/337C/16, Mr. Gboyega Oduwole, informed the court that Mrs. Jonathan filed a fundamental application against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), claiming ownership of the money.

The EFCC had taken former presidential aide, Amajuoyi Azubike Briggs, former Skye Bank official, Damola Bolodeoku, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited to court in an alleged $31.4 million fraud involving the companies without addresses.

Others also charged include Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited, Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited and Globus Integrated Services Limited.
According to an application filed on September 6, this year, with file number FHC/L/C5/1233/16, Mrs. Jonathan is asking the court to make an order for the enforcement of her fundamental rights, in terms of reliefs she sought, and naming as defendants, the EFCC and Skye Bank Plc.

The former first lady asked the court to make a declaration that the fund standing to the credit of four of the companies and an account in her own name in Skye Bank belonged to her.

She also asked the court to declare that the action of the respondents in placing a No Debit/Freezing Order on the said accounts without any order of a competent court of law or prior notice to her, to be in breach of her fundamental rights as contained in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Airline Passengers Warned Not To Switch On Or Charge, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Phones



BBC reports that Airline passengers have been warned by US authorities not to switch on or charge their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones when on board the plane.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also advised against packing the phones into any checked-in luggage.
Samsung recalled the phone last week after reports emerged of the device exploding during or after charging.
Qantas and Virgin Australia have also told customers not to charge or use the phone during flights.
Samsung said it would speed up shipments of replacement Galaxy Note 7 phones to ease safety concerns.
Earlier this week, US TV channel Fox 10 reported claims that a faulty Galaxy Note 7 had set fire to a family's Jeep.

Surajudeen Taiwo, Olalomi Ejire, Dies At 54

Popular broadcast journalist, Surajudeen Taiwo Salami famously known as Olalomi Ejire has died. He died on Friday September 2nd at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos after a brief illness. He was 54 years old. He was the anchor of Eko Lawa on Radio Lagos and Ogbon Kayeso on Faaji FM. His remains have since been interred according to Islamic injunction. May his soul rest in peace Amen

Jealous Woman Butchers Husband!

A jealous housewife, Oluwakemi Etu, yesterday morning hacked her husband, Mr. Kehinde Etu, down with machete, leaving him in a coma and pool of blood.
The Nation gathered that the  woman who attacked the man when he fell asleep shortly after making love to her, also had an argument with him in connection with alleged moves to marry a second wife.
The Nation gathered that Oluwakemi had invited the husband over to her residence at the Erinlu area of Ijebu – Ode, Ogun State, to spend the weekend with her without suspecting any foul play.
It was learnt further that while he was there, he was treated warmly by the woman, luring him into false sense of security only to attack him savagely with machete later, inflicting several deep cuts on his chest, arms, shoulder and lower part of the head in his sleep.
The Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said Oluwakemi has been arrested by policemen from the Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters, Ijebu – Ode.
He added that the woman had quarreled with her husband earlier by night before carrying out the surprise attack on him with cutlass. The injured husband is currently receiving treatment at the State General Hospital, Ijebu – Ode.

A source at the hospital told The Nation that the man said  he never knew what hit him, having passed out and that it was later he discovered himself on the hospital with deep cuts on his chest and other parts of the body.
