Not less than 22
people are reportedly eyeing the Chairmanship of Agbado OkeOdo LCDA in
Alimosho, Alimosho Standard can authoritatively inform you. The aspirants ho
have started showing interest in the number one job of the Council are said to
be seeking support of their constituents who can be trusted.
The elections
expected to come up anytime from now hopes to be a tough one in Alimosho being
the biggest local government in the country.
After the last
administration in the local governments in Lagos state ended sometime in September
of 2014, there have been 2 different administrations, first of the Council
Manager and then the current Executive Secretaries who were appointed by the
administration of the former governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on January 5,
2015. Governor Akinumi Ambode seems to be enjoying the good works being done
and the support of the Executive Secretaries as he as neither changed anyone
nor conducted elections even when the state has been taken to court on that
issue.
Though the
Executive Secretaries were said to be initially exempted from contesting the chairmanship
of the Council, there are indications they all might be interested in the top
job as they have taken steps including meetings and maybe legal, to work their way
into retaining their jobs as substantive chairmen.
Alimosho
comprising of 6 Local Governments will be an interesting playground as many
people are showing interest in the number one local government job. Alimosho Standard
promises to organize a debate for the 6 Local Governments when the primaries
have been done so people can vote based on the candidates with the right agenda
and plan for the people.
