The crème de la crème of Alimosho politics and
beyond, especially the members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday
28th March, 2016 converged at the AMEN Center, Abesan Estate, Alimosho,
Lagos to celebrate one of their own, an icon, a political giant, a business man
and philanthropist, Alhaji Yisa Yusuf, aka YY on his 60th Birthday.
The roll call is
not about who came, it is about who did not come as the 1000-capacity Hall had
an overflow. From the National Assembly
to Lagos State House of Representatives and to Lagos state Executive Council
members, most people came to show their loyalty and support for a man that has
stood by them over the years.
The All White
party couldn’t have been more beautiful as different shades of white materials
were adorned by men and women who tried to outshine themselves.
Alimosho, the
largest local government in Lagos state comprising of six local governments had
all the Executive Secretaries and principal officers duly represented, an
attestation to the fact that Alhaji Yisa Yusuf is a force to reckon with in
Alimosho politics. The ruling Party in Lagos state has been in government in
Alimosho since the inception of this political dispensation in 1999 and so has
produced all the office holders in Alimosho, of which Alhaji Yisa Yusuf is a
key player.
Prayers were
said for the celebrant by Muslim clerics led by Chief Imam of Alaya Central
Mosque, Alaya Abdul-Gafar. The event was anchored by a popular Yoruba actor, BabaTee, music was supplied by top Fuji
artiste, Askari Ton Ko Fuji with DJ More Muzik on the Turn Table.
Speakers who
took turns to speak at the event eulogized the celebrant for his activities in
ensuring the stability of Alimosho politics. Notable in the speakers is a close
associate, Alhaji Abdullai Enilolobo, the organizing Secretary of APC, who
spoke highly of the person of the celebrant and referred to him as a good man
and a political heavyweight in Alimosho.
Alhaji Yisa
Yusuf visited and donated Drugs to Hospitals in Mosan Okunola LCDA and also visited
the Little Saints Orphanage Home, Akowonjo where he donated food, toys and gift
items as part of the activities lined up for his birthday. The prayers and
reception held on Monday, 28th March wound up the birthday celebration
of the man many people call the Jagaban of Alimosho politics.
Alimosho
Standard is glad to be associated with a man of his caliber and we join his
family, friends and well wishers to wish him a happy birthday and many happy returns.
Igba odun, odun kan ni o.
