Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo (Eyes Open) Empowers Constituents, Gives Account of His Stewardship

The Honourable representing Alimosho Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Olufemi Bandele Adebanjo (Eyes Open) on Monday, June 13, 2016 held a Town Hall Meeting, one year in office and Empowerment programme in Mosalashi, Alimosho, Lagos.
The programme which was chaired by Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (YAYI), senator representing Lagos West senatorial District at the Senate and had as special guest of honour, Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, afforded Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo the opportunity to give his stewardship to his constituency for his activities since he was voted into office as member house of representative.
In his speech, The Speaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Obasa lauded Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo for giving account of his stewardship at the House of Representatives to the people that voted him into office and for empowering them despite the situation in the country. A move he says will give the people dividend of democracy and lessen the sufferings of the people.
The speaker also congratulated Alimosho residents for the infrastructural development going on in the area and urged the people to support the government so that they can keep enjoying the dividend of democracy. He however pleaded with the people to look after the infrastructures that have been put in place. He noted in particular, motorists knocking down poles meant to give illumination to the area at night.
In his welcome address, the host and Honourable representing Alimosho federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo gave a blow by low account of his stewardship at the 8th Assembly. He thanked the people for believing in him by giving their votes and promised to keep up in the footsteps of his predecessor who is now a Senator, Olamilekan Solomon (YAYI).
Hon. Adebanjo noted that his decision to lessen the pains of his people is premised on the current financial situation of the country. “The current financial situation in the country calls for desperate measures. Our declining revenue as a result of the crash in international crude oil prices has further proven that we need to explore other sources of income.” He noted.  
Items that were given away included 6 Tricycles (Keke Marwa), 70 Motorcycles (okada), 70 Grinding Machines, 70 Sewing Machines, 30 Hair Driers, 300 Bags of Rice and Beans and Cash. They were given out in a manner to cut across youths, the elderly, market men and women, community residents and executives (CDA & CDC), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Teachers, Artisans and many others. The Honourable pleaded with the beneficiaries to put the items to good use to alleviate poverty in their communities.
Hon. Adebanjo thanked the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for the immense infrastructural development ongoing in the state and particularly in Alimosho. He noted the completion of Ayobo – Ipaja – Abesan road and Meiran road, the upgrading of Command – Ajasa road, the commencement of Abule Egba overhead Bridge, Aboru – Abesan road, Isefun – Kande road, completion of Mini – waterworks at Abesan to mention a few. “This clearly indicates the Governor’s love and passion for the development of our constituency.” He added.
Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (YAYI) the chairman of the occasion thanked Hon. Adebanjo for giving feedback to his people. Senator Olamilekan in his speech expressed his love loyalty to the people of Alimosho. He noted he just distributed 500 Life Jackets to the people of his senatorial district and will be giving 28 schools one Toilet and one Borehole each. The senator who noted the hard times being experienced in the country praised Hon. Adebanjo for giving back to the people. He supported the Honourable with a cash donation and promised to do more.
Senator Olamilekan congratulated the newly sworn-in Sole administrators in the local governments and advocated for true Federalism to be practiced in Nigeria.
Present at the event were Royal fathers, Dignitaries from all walks of life, leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alimosho, APC party executives in Alimosho, members of the party, community residents and their executives, artisans, associations, teachers, commercial drivers among many others.
The beneficiaries thanked the Honourable for his kind gesture and promised to put the items to good use to better their lives.
