No Carnival at Abesan Gate This Year – LCDA Chairman
The Chairman of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Opeyemi Adunni Akindele, has announced that there will be no carnival permitted at Abesan Gate in Abesan Estate this December!
Speaking on Sunday 30th November, 2025 at the monthly general meeting of the Abesan Estate Residents’ Association, Hon. Akindele stated firmly that the popular year-end carnival traditionally held at the estate’s main gate would not be allowed to proceed at that location this year.
While ruling out the Abesan Gate venue, Hon. Akindele clarified that carnivals and festive celebrations may still take place in other areas within the estate.
Residents have long complained that the Abesan Gate carnival blocks the major access road, causing prolonged gridlock and inconvenience, especially during the busy festive period.
The decision is expected to bring relief to many motorists and residents who rely on the gate as the primary entry and exit point, though some revellers may be disappointed by the restriction.
