The delegates
from the CDAs in Mosan/Okunola have in a free and fair election, elected Dr.
Akin Baruwa as the CDC chairman of Mosan/Okunola LCDA. In an overwhelming
victory, Dr. Akin Baruwa of Ifelodun CDA polled 49 votes while his challenger,
Elder Adenuga of Greenland CDA had just 14 votes. With the result and swearing
in by the Executive Secretary, he has been saddled with the responsibility of
leading the CDC for a single term of 2 years or maximum of 4 years for 2 terms.
In her speech
during the inauguration, the Executive Secretary of Mosan/Okunola LCDA,
Honourable Opeyemi Adunni Akindele thanked them for a peaceful conduct and
urged them to cooperate with the chairman they unanimously voted for to move
the CDC forward. It is of note that the CDC has been without Executives for
sometime because the tenure of the former executives had elapsed and no
election was conducted for reasons known to the immediate past government in
Mosan/Okunola. The representative from Lagos State who monitored the event said
the State had refused to recognise the past executives because they were due
for election but didn’t conduct any. The Executive Secretary promised to give
the new executives the necessary support and pleaded with them to do their part
as the 4th tier of government.
In his own
