International Training: LABHCA Graduates First Set of Beneficiaries

Lagos State Barbers, Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association (LABHCA) graduated the first set of beneficiaries of their Millionaire programme on Thursday June 30, 2016 at their monthly general meeting. The beneficiaries, fifteen in number who were selected based on their dedication to the association and other criteria, attended an international course in Make-up, a programme expected to turn them into millionaires which was recently introduced by the newly sworn-in president of the association, Comrade Yetunde Ijaoba Oladipupo.

  LABHCA is an association with a numerical strength of more than half a million people, a situation which puts the president of the association at a vantage position of great influence. This influence, she promised during her swearing-in to use to the advantage of members of her association.

LABHCA Institute of Cosmetology and Hair Management (LICOHM), a subsidiary of LABHCA is an institution set up for the training and re-training of members of the association. Their curriculum includes trips to Ghana, South Africa and recently, United States. The new management recently signed MoU with a United States based company so members of the association can travel for advanced training in their fields, a continuation of what they have learnt in LICOHM.

Their monthly programme is an avenue for manufacturers of Beauty products to introduce their new products to members of the association; it is also an opportunity to sell a lot of their old and new products.

To some members, the monthly meeting is a time to learn the latest Hair style in town, to many others, it is a time to have fun, buy products they will use in their salons till next meeting and also an opportunity to win gifts which include a giant fridge through a raffle ticket. To the president of the association, it is an opportunity to give account of her stewardship to her members and to fulfill her promises.

The Millionaire programme according to the president of the association, Comrade Yetunde Ijaoba Oladipupo will be a continuous one with the enrolment of another set of beneficiaries for the course. 

At the meeting to present certificates to the beneficiaries on Thursday was the representative of Sonya and Country Sales Manager for Forever Nigeria, Israel Adegboye who congratulated the beneficiaries for taking advantage of the Millionaire programme and charged them to make the best use of the rare privilege they have enjoyed and to be great ambassadors of the company.

Musbau Oyesina and Funke Giwa, the King and Queen of LABHCA for 2016 respectively, were officially presented to the association, having won their competitions at the last May Fair celebration. Their reign is to last till the next May Fair which is in a year’s time. 

Newly appointed Regional Executives were also sworn-in by the association’s Lawyer,
Barrister Ademola Ijaoba . They are saddled with the responsibilities of overseeing the regional activities of the association and moving the body forward.

A lucky lady with raffle ticket number 003433 won the highly coveted star prize of a giant Fridge among many other consolation prizes.
