Hurricane Folashade Sweeps Through Abesan!

Hurricane Folashade Sweeps through Abesan
Ms. Folashade Folivi is the MD of Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC), the company that built and is regulating the activities in all Jakande Estates in Lagos state, which Abesan Estate is one. No sooner than she was appointed to that position less than 2 years ago, she indicated her interest in giving the people of the Estates better living conditions than what is presently being enjoyed. To her, any building erected in the estates without a building approval is illegal and must go down. she says she wants to follow the Master Plan of the estates so people can enjoy the flats they bought.

The demolition exercise has been carried out in most of the estates and is about to be carried out in Abesan and because of the population of Abesan, many people think the government might not be getting it right as most of these shop owners are retirees who might be sent to their early graves if their means of livelihood is taken from them, after all government cares less about them. But that is not in any way about to pacify Ms. Folivi who has insisted that illegal structures must be taken down for more befitting structures to be erected.

At the meeting held on 14th October, 2017 to inform people of their (LBIC) intention to remove illegal structures, one of the residents asked a direct question..."Ma, we know you are coming, can you please tell us when, so we can prepare?" The question was not answered by the MD which has created room for a lot of rumours. Many have even said Caterpillars are already in Abesan for the demolition, this we found not to be true.

The people of Abesan however don't want to be caught unawares as they have started salvaging their belongings before the real deal starts. We went through Abesan today and we brought some pictures for you.

Ms. Folashade Folivi said all buildings including churches must go!
