Pharmacist Oduwole Adedeji Fredrick (OFRED) Declares Intention to Run for Mosan Okunola LCDA Chairmanship, Promises to Revamp Abesan Estate's Infrastructure
Abesan Estate, Nigeria's Largest Estate, Plays Host to Aspiring Chairman, as Residents Express Readiness to Support a Leader Who Will Prioritize Their Progress
LAGOS, NIGERIA - In a move that is set to shake up the political landscape of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Oduwole Adedeji Fredrick has declared his intention to run for the chairmanship position. The aspiring chairman, who is a resident of Abesan Estate and owner of one of the biggest pharmacy stores in Abesan, OFRED Pharmacy, paid a visit to the estate's leadership to make his intentions known on Friday 7th February, 2025.
Abesan Estate, located in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, is renowned as the largest estate in Nigeria, with a high concentration of residents. The estate has a long history of hosting prominent politicians, including former national leaders of political parties and former governors, who often visit the estate to campaign during elections.
Oduwole, who has been a resident of Abesan Estate since 2006, expressed his deep understanding of the challenges faced by the community. He assured the executives that he is committed to solving these problems, once he is elected into office as chairman of Mosan Okunola LCDA.
While addressing the executives, Oduwole highlighted some of his notable achievements, including organizing and operating freely on 169 patients in just six days at Ojodu LCDA. He promised to replicate this feat in Mosan Okunola LCDA, leveraging his expertise as a health practitioner. Additionally, he pledged to revamp and immediately build the health facility in the estate, as well as tackle the underwater issues that have been plaguing the community.
The president of Abesan Estate, Elder Michael Kehinde, welcomed Mr Oduwole’s declaration, thanking him for identifying with the problems of the estate. However, Elder Kehinde did not hesitate to express his disappointment with the current administration of the local government, led by Princess Olabisi Adebajo, citing the neglect of the community's infrastructure, security and welfare.

Elder Kehinde emphasized the estate's readiness to support a leader who will prioritize their progress and solve the infrastructural problems that have been hindering their development. He noted that the estate is eager to have a son of the soil who will take their plight seriously and work tirelessly to address their concerns.The president's speech focused on the importance of security and infrastructure, emphasizing the need for a leader who will take these issues seriously and work to improve the overall well-being of the community.
As the race for the Mosan Okunola LCDA chairmanship heats up, Mr Oduwole's declaration is set to inject a new wave of excitement and optimism into the community. With his promises to revamp the estate's infrastructure and prioritize the welfare of residents, he is poised to win the hearts of Abesan Estate residents, who are eager for a leader who will take their concerns seriously and work to improve their lives.
Other notable politicians who are leading contenders for the chairmanship position include the vice chairman of the Council, Hon. Dayo Osinowo, Secretary to the Council, Hon. Ayo Orimolade, Omo Oba Falade and Hon. Opeyemi Adunni Akindele.
Pharmacist Oduwole’s entourage included prominent political and community leaders, such as Aare Tunde Shokunle, Chief R.O Adenuga, Prophet Kehinde Bisiriyu, Olusegun Ariyo, among others.
