Ayobo-Ipaja Moves to Tackle Indiscriminate Waste Disposal

The Supervisor for Environment of the Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Hon. Okeowo Samson Olabode, has led a high-level engagement to the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Agbaje Lukmon Abiodun, as part of efforts to address the growing challenge of indiscriminate waste disposal across the council area.

Hon. Okeowo was accompanied by the Chairman of the Taskforce Against Indiscriminate Dumping of Refuse, Supro Amoko Samson (Rtd.), during the strategic meeting, which centred on finding practical solutions to waste dumping on road medians, public spaces, roadways, and drainage channels within the LCDA.

Deliberations at the meeting covered measures to strengthen waste management operations, improve environmental sanitation, deepen public awareness, and reinforce enforcement against environmental violations across the council.

The Executive Chairman reaffirmed the administration's commitment to environmental sustainability and expressed support for initiatives aimed at promoting responsible waste disposal and maintaining cleaner communities throughout Ayobo-Ipaja.

Speaking after the engagement, Hon. Okeowo pledged continued collaboration with stakeholders, community leaders, environmental agencies, and residents towards achieving a cleaner and safer council area.

"Through collective responsibility, continuous public enlightenment, and effective enforcement, we can achieve our shared vision of environmental excellence," he said.
