HON. AYUBA DEFEATS ADEBAJO WITH 37,021 VOTES, DEMANDS APC RECOGNITION AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS By Olufemi Odeyemi

Lagos, June 4, 2026 — The current member of the House of Representatives representing Alimosho Federal Constituency, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, popularly known as Mayor K.K., has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to formally recognise him as the party's duly elected candidate for the 2027 general elections, following his landslide victory at the APC primary election.

Hon. Ayuba made the declaration at a press conference held today in Egbeda, Lagos, where he announced that he polled 37,021 votes against the 2,793 votes recorded by his closest rival, Hon. Olabisi Adebajo, also known as Abisco, a margin that he described as a clear and unambiguous expression of the will of the people.

"I am the popular candidate and the winner of this primary election," Ayuba told the gathering. "The figures speak for themselves, and I call on the APC leadership to do the right thing by registering my name as the candidate of our great party ahead of the 2027 elections."

In a show of party loyalty, Hon. Ayuba also appealed directly to President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter, reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the President and expressing confidence that the father of the party would ensure that justice prevails in the resolution of the primary election dispute.

The press conference, held at Egbeda, drew a wide cross-section of stakeholders, including APC party leadership in Alimosho, royal fathers, religious leaders, members of the Community Development Committee (CDC), youths, and party faithful, a turnout that underscored the breadth of support behind the incumbent lawmaker.

Hon. Ayuba, who currently occupies the Alimosho seat at the House of Representatives, positioned his overwhelming victory as a mandate from the grassroots and urged the party not to subvert the democratic process.

As the 2027 electoral cycle draws closer, the outcome of this primary and the APC leadership's response to Ayuba's demand is expected to shape the political landscape in one of Lagos State's most populous federal constituencies.
